Real Kashmir Football Club
Production Designer
A webseries directed by
Mahesh Mathai, Rajesh Mapuskar & Umang Vyas;
produced by Yamini Pictures.
Real Kashmir Football Club was my first long format web series, making it both an exciting milestone and an intense learning experience. The scale of the project demanded a different rhythm of working, one that was relentless, collaborative, and deeply rewarding.
A significant part of the shoot took place in Kashmir, where I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the region's architecture, crafts, landscapes, and everyday aesthetics. Understanding the visual language of the place was as important as building the world of the story. It reminded me that production design begins with observation long before construction.
The series tells the story of the formation of the Real Kashmir Football Club, bringing together players from different walks of life whose individual struggles eventually unite them as a team. Football has rarely been explored in Indian cinema with this kind of emotional depth, and it was exciting to contribute to a story where sport became a vehicle for hope, identity, and community.
More than anything, this project taught me the value of collaboration. Whatever I achieved on this series was only possible because of my team. Their commitment, resilience, and belief in the work carried us through demanding schedules and constantly changing conditions. This project belongs to them as much as it does to me, and it remains one of the most meaningful experiences of my career.
